Merge tag 'mm-nonmm-stable-2026-08-22-16-57' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/akpm/mm

Pull non-MM updates from Andrew Morton:

- "ocfs2/dlm: bound peer-controlled lengths in the o2dlm" (Bryam
Vargas)

Validate and bound all input lengths and count fields in the o2dlm
migration and recovery receive handlers to prevent memory corruption
and kernel panics from malformed cluster messages

- "ocfs2: validate xattr entry bounds" (Cen Zhang)

Validate OCFS2 extended attribute entry name and value bounds during
metadata reads to prevent out-of-range memory accesses during
retrieval or listing operations.

- "taskstats: fix cgroupstats invalid fd handling and add selftests"
(Yiyang Chen)

Return -EBADF when cgroupstats receives an invalid file descriptor to
prevent caller hangs and misleading success ACKs. Add a kselftest to
validate valid cgroup v1 queries and verify proper error handling
across different Netlink flag combinations.

- "misc lib/raid/ improvements v2" (Christoph Hellwig)

Improve benchmark-based algorithm selection for the XOR and RAID6
libraries, add KUnit benchmark tests, and cleanup minor
implementation details.

- "ocfs2: cluster: o2hb_region_pin() fixes" (Joseph Qi)

Fix sleeping-in-atomic, lock order inversion and error-path cleanup
bugs in o2hb_region_pin() by releasing o2hb_live_lock across sleeping
configfs_depend_item() calls and using unlocked variants from
callback context. Ensure failed pin attempts properly decrement user
counts and unpin partially initialized heartbeat regions to prevent
memory leaks and unprotected states.

- "lib/ucs2_string.c: fix out-of-bounds read in ucs2_strnlen()"
(Vincent Mailhol)

Fix an off-by-one which could cause an out-of-bounds read.

- "ocfs2: harden heartbeat teardown races" (Cen Zhang)

Fix two OCFS2 heartbeat/o2net teardown races found by KASAN.

- "taskstats: tidy up the cpumask command path" *Bradley Morgan)

make two small cleanups in kernel/taskstats.c.

- "ocfs2: validate active orphan slots during inode read" (ZhengYuan
Huang)

Validate active ordinary and append-DIO orphan slots read from OCFS2
dinodes at the metadata boundary to prevent corrupted slot indices
from causing out-of-bounds array accesses.

- "ocfs2: bound-check both readdir re-validation scans" (Zhan Xusheng)

Enforce strict boundary checks on directory entry record lengths and
offset calculations during OCFS2 directory re-scans to prevent
out-of-bounds memory reads and directory position corruption.

Merge tag 'v7.2-rc1' into drm-rust-next

Merge v7.2-rc1 into drm-rust-next to start the next cycle.

Devres now requires T: 'static, which conflicts with shmem::Object using
Devres<SGTableMap<T, C>> without that bound. Resolve by adding 'static
as a supertrait to DriverObject and DeviceContext, which does not
restrict any current use cases since DriverObject is always implemented
on owned, refcounted types and DeviceContext is a sealed marker trait
with only unit-type implementors.

If DriverObject (or DeviceContext) ever becomes lifetime-parameterized
(e.g. via a GAT for TTM backed objects), the 'static supertrait can be
relaxed at that point.

Merge tag 'timers-v7.3-rc1' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/daniel.lezcano/linux into timers/clocksource

- Use designated initializers for sh_mtu2, sh_cmt, and sh_tmu, and
drop the unused initializer in the platform_device_id table for
sh_mtu2 (Uwe Kleine-König)

- Remove redundant dev_err()/dev_err_probe() messages when
devm_request_*_irq() fails, as the helper already logs an error
message (Pan Chuang)

- Fix a boot hang on Allwinner D1 when a forced minimum delta is used
with the sun4i timer (Felix Yan)

- Fix an IRQ leak in the cpuhp_setup_state() error path by freeing the
IRQ on failure in the NXP PIT driver (WenTao Liang)

- Fix incorrect unmapping of shared MMIO between the clocksource and
clockevent drivers. If one of them fails to initialize, the error
path unmaps the shared MMIO region, leaving the other driver with an
invalid mapping on clps711x (Guangshuo Li)

- Make the samsung_pwm driver compatible with PREEMPT_RT by replacing
regular spinlocks with raw_spinlock_t in atomic contexts (Marek
Szyprowski)

- Use __raw_readl() and __raw_writel() instead of ioread32() and
iowrite32() to support SWAP_IO_SPACE in the rtl-otto driver (Rustam
Adilov)

- Fix a missing clk_disable_unprepare() call in the timer
initialization error path of the Armada driver (Yuho Choi)

RAID 5 XOR library and other CRC/crypto libraries

- "ocfs2: harden inode validators against forged metadata" (Michael

selftests/acct: add taskstats TGID retention test

Add a kselftest for the taskstats TGID aggregation fix.

The test creates a worker thread, snapshots TGID taskstats while the
worker is still alive, lets the worker exit, and then verifies that the
TGID CPU total does not regress after the thread has been reaped.

The pass/fail check intentionally keys off ac_utime + ac_stime only, which
is the primary user-visible regression fixed by the taskstats change and
is less sensitive to scheduling noise than context-switch counters.
