Pull more liveupdate updates from Mike Rapoport: "Make boot time huge page allocation work nicely with kexec handover.
Today allocation of gigantic pages in HugeTLB cannot work reliably with kexec handover (KHO):
- HugeTLB allocates gigantic pages using memblock and autoscaling of KHO scratch accounts for these allocations. When gigantic pages occupy half of the memory of more, KHO fails to allocate its scratch memory.
- After kexec handover, memblock allocations exclusively use KHO scratch that is not supposed to contain preserved memory. This essentially blocks preservation of HugeTLB with gigantic pages.
Extend early memory pools available for KHO kernel with areas that are guaranteed not to contain preserved memory"

Merge patch series "kho: make boot time huge page allocation work nicely with KHO"
Pratyush Yadav <pratyush@kernel.org> says:
Gigantic huge page allocation is somewhat broken currently with KHO.
First, they break scratch size accounting. Since they are allocated using the memblock alloc APIs, they count towards RSRV_KERN, and this scratch size when using scratch_scale. This means if huge pages take a large enough chunk of system memory scratch size will blow up and fail to allocate.
Second, scratch can not contain preserved memory, and if huge pages are allocated from scratch, they will fail to be preserved with the upcoming hugetlb preservation series [0].
Fix this by introducing the concept of extended scratch areas. They are areas that the kernel discovers on boot by walking the KHO preserved memory radix tree and finding free memory ranges.

kho: expose kho_scratch_overlap() to kexec_handover.h
Support for discovering memory blocks with no preserved memory will be added in coming patches. These areas will also be marked as scratch to allow allocations from them. Memblock will switch to looking through the scratch array to decide the right migratetype.
Expose kho_scratch_overlap() to KHO users. Since it is now used by non-debug code, move it out of kexec_handover_debug.c and into kexec_handover.c. Gate the overlap checks in kho_preserve_folio() and kho_preserve_pages() by IS_ENABLED(CONFIG_KEXEC_HANDOVER_DEBUG) instead.
Since kexec_handover_debug.c is now empty, delete it.
Add a stub for kho_scratch_overlap() to memblock tests to make sure it compiles. It will be used in memblock by a coming commit.
No functional changes.

Merge v7.2-rc1 into drm-rust-next to start the next cycle.
Devres now requires T: 'static, which conflicts with shmem::Object using Devres<SGTableMap<T, C>> without that bound. Resolve by adding 'static as a supertrait to DriverObject and DeviceContext, which does not restrict any current use cases since DriverObject is always implemented on owned, refcounted types and DeviceContext is a sealed marker trait with only unit-type implementors.
If DriverObject (or DeviceContext) ever becomes lifetime-parameterized (e.g. via a GAT for TTM backed objects), the 'static supertrait can be relaxed at that point.

Merge patch series "liveupdate: Remove limits on sessions and files"
Pasha Tatashin <pasha.tatashin@soleen.com> says:
Remove the fixed limits on the number of files that can be preserved within a single session, and the total number of sessions managed by the Live Update Orchestrator (LUO).
The core of the change is a transition from single contiguous memory blocks for metadata serialization to a chain of linked blocks. This allows LUO to scale dynamically.
1. ABI Evolution: - Introduced linked-block headers for both file and session serialization. - Bumped session ABI version to v4.
2. Memory Management & Security: - Implemented a dynamic block allocation and reuse strategy. Blocks are allocated only when existing ones are exhausted and are reused during session/file removal cycles. - Introduced KHO_MAX_BLOCKS (10000) as a safeguard against stupid excessive allocations or corrupted cyclic lists during restore.
3. Expanded Selftests: - Added new kexec-based tests verifying preservation of 2000 sessions and 500 files per session. - Added self-tests for many sessions and many files management.

kho: add support for linked-block serialization
Introduce a linked-block serialization mechanism for state handover.
Previously, LUO used contiguous memory blocks for serializing sessions and files, which imposed limits on the total number of items that could be preserved across a live update.
This commit adds the infrastructure for a more flexible, block-based approach where serialized data is stored in a chain of linked blocks. This is a generic KHO serialization block infrastructure that can be used by multiple subsystems.
