Merge tag 'v7.2-rc1' into drm-rust-next
Merge v7.2-rc1 into drm-rust-next to start the next cycle.
Devres now requires T: 'static, which conflicts with shmem::Object using Devres<SGTableMap<T, C>> without that bound. Resolve by adding 'static as a supertrait to DriverObject and DeviceContext, which does not restrict any current use cases since DriverObject is always implemented on owned, refcounted types and DeviceContext is a sealed marker trait with only unit-type implementors.
If DriverObject (or DeviceContext) ever becomes lifetime-parameterized (e.g. via a GAT for TTM backed objects), the 'static supertrait can be relaxed at that point.

sched_ext: Merge branch 'for-7.3-arena-args' into for-7.3
Pull to receive the __arena argument conversion:
67f1f4a48c24 ("sched_ext: Pass kernel arena pointers to ops_cid callbacks") a8dc810968af ("sched_ext: Convert sub-cap kfuncs to __arena cmask arguments") a05c5b5cb5cf ("sched_ext: Convert scx_bpf_cid_override() to __arena array arguments")
along with the bpf-next branch carrying the __arena argument support they depend on.
Conflict in kernel/sched/ext/ext.c between:
c384ab8a0b13 ("sched_ext: Move the config-off sub-cap kfunc stubs into sub.c")
and:
a8dc810968af ("sched_ext: Convert sub-cap kfuncs to __arena cmask arguments")
which updated the stubs in their old ext.c location. Resolved by keeping ext.c without the stubs and applying the prototype conversion to the relocated stubs in sub.c.

- Fix a boot hang on Allwinner D1 when a forced minimum delta is used with the sun4i timer (Felix Yan)
- Fix an IRQ leak in the cpuhp_setup_state() error path by freeing the IRQ on failure in the NXP PIT driver (WenTao Liang)
- Fix incorrect unmapping of shared MMIO between the clocksource and clockevent drivers. If one of them fails to initialize, the error path unmaps the shared MMIO region, leaving the other driver with an invalid mapping on clps711x (Guangshuo Li)
- Make the samsung_pwm driver compatible with PREEMPT_RT by replacing regular spinlocks with raw_spinlock_t in atomic contexts (Marek Szyprowski)
- Use __raw_readl() and __raw_writel() instead of ioread32() and iowrite32() to support SWAP_IO_SPACE in the rtl-otto driver (Rustam Adilov)
- Fix a missing clk_disable_unprepare() call in the timer initialization error path of the Armada driver (Yuho Choi)

regulator: qcom-rpmh: Support RPMH address reads and use it for rpmh-regulators
Kamal Wadhwa <kamal.wadhwa@oss.qualcomm.com> says:
This patch series adds a new `rpmh_read()` API to allow reading RPMH addresses. Using this API enhances the RPMH regulator driver by adding readback of the voltage/bypass/mode settings as they have been applied by APPS during the bootloader stage, so regulator framework can get them via `get_mode`, `get_bypass` & `get_voltage_selector` callbacks during regulator registration.
This is needed because currently regulator framework does a unnecessary write with `min-microvolt` DT setting for all the RPMH regulators during regulator registration, because the first time after boot the value is seen as -ENOTRECOVERABLE, as there is no option to read these regulator settings.
With this change this unnecessary write can be avoided and regulator framework gets a sense of the initial state set during the bootloader stage for all regulator settings.
NOTE - During discussion on the v2 series - PATCH 3/4, reviewer had inquired about possible need for the use of the sync_state() to handle the "multiple" client case - for maintaining the regulator settings till all the clients are probed.
This case was not covered in my previous series and had originally planned to do that series separately. But after the discussion decided to merge the 2 series as it seemed this would be a better approach. But after working on sync_state change. I realized a basic issue with using sync_state() for regulators - that its per-driver and not per-regulator resource. But we needed a sync_state callback for each regulator separately.
I had been experimenting with few ideas but seems its going to need more time for me to close on the equivalent solution that has per-regulator sync_state or something to that effect. So I thought to close on this series and attend to that separately.

ASoC: SOF: ipc4-topology: Pipeline params improvements
Peter Ujfalusi <peter.ujfalusi@linux.intel.com> says:
Improve handling of some corner cases that are not used by current topology designs, but can be crafted within the rules of a topology file.
For example branching topologies, where a single input routed to multiple output endpoints. The already configured part of the graph places constraint on how the new branch can be configured.
Handling of process modules also updated to be able to 'guess' what parameters can be changed by the module and allow flexible operation.
