Merge tag 'net-next-7.1' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/netdev/net-nextPull networking updates from Jakub Kicinski: "Core & protocols: - Support HW queue leasing, allowing containers to be granted access to HW queues for zero-copy operations and AF_XDP - Number of code moves to help the compiler with inlining. Avoid output arguments for returning drop reason where possible - Rework drop handling within qdiscs to include more metadata about the reason and dropping qdisc in the tracepoints - Remove the rtnl_lock use from IP Multicast Routing - Pack size information into the Rx Flow Steering table pointer itself. This allows making the table itself a flat array of u32s, thus making the table allocation size a power of two - Report TCP delayed ack timer information via socket diag - Add ip_local_port_step_width sysctl to allow distributing the randomly selected ports more evenly throughout the allowed space - Add support for per-route tunsrc in IPv6 segment routing - Start work of switching sockopt handling to iov_iter - Improve dynamic recvbuf sizing in MPTCP, limit burstiness and avoid buffer size drifting up - Support MSG_EOR in MPTCP - Add stp_mode attribute to the bridge driver for STP mode selection. This addresses concerns about call_usermodehelper() usage - Remove UDP-Lite support (as announced in 2023) - Remove support for building IPv6 as a module. Remove the now unnecessary function calling indirection Cross-tree stuff: - Move Michael MIC code from generic crypto into wireless, it's considered insecure but some WiFi networks still need it Netfilter: - Switch nft_fib_ipv6 module to no longer need temporary dst_entry object allocations by using fib6_lookup() + RCU. Florian W reports this gets us ~13% higher packet rate - Convert IPVS's global __ip_vs_mutex to per-net service_mutex and switch the service tables to be per-net. Convert some code that walks the service lists to use RCU instead of the service_mutex - Add more opinionated input validation to lower security exposure - Make IPVS hash tables to be per-netns and resizable Wireless: - Finished assoc frame encryption/EPPKE/802.1X-over-auth - Radar detection improvements - Add 6 GHz incumbent signal detection APIs - Multi-link support for FILS, probe response templates and client probing - New APIs and mac80211 support for NAN (Neighbor Aware Networking, aka Wi-Fi Aware) so less work must be in firmware Driver API: - Add numerical ID for devlink instances (to avoid having to create fake bus/device pairs just to have an ID). Support shared devlink instances which span multiple PFs - Add standard counters for reporting pause storm events (implement in mlx5 and fbnic) - Add configuration API for completion writeback buffering (implement in mana) - Support driver-initiated change of RSS context sizes - Support DPLL monitoring input frequency (implement in zl3073x) - Support per-port resources in devlink (implement in mlx5) Misc: - Expand the YAML spec for Netfilter Drivers - Software: - macvlan: support multicast rx for bridge ports with shared source MAC address - team: decouple receive and transmit enablement for IEEE 802.3ad LACP "independent control" - Ethernet high-speed NICs: - nVidia/Mellanox: - support high order pages in zero-copy mode (for payload coalescing) - support multiple packets in a page (for systems with 64kB pages) - Broadcom 25-400GE (bnxt): - implement XDP RSS hash metadata extraction - add software fallback for UDP GSO, lowering the IOMMU cost - Broadcom 800GE (bnge): - add link status and configuration handling - add various HW and SW statistics - Marvell/Cavium: - NPC HW block support for cn20k - Huawei (hinic3): - add mailbox / control queue - add rx VLAN offload - add driver info and link management - Ethernet NICs: - Marvell/Aquantia: - support reading SFP module info on some AQC100 cards - Realtek PCI (r8169): - add support for RTL8125cp - Realtek USB (r8152): - support for the RTL8157 5Gbit chip - add 2500baseT EEE status/configuration support - Ethernet NICs embedded and off-the-shelf IP: - Synopsys (stmmac): - cleanup and reorganize SerDes handling and PCS support - cleanup descriptor handling and per-platform data - cleanup and consolidate MDIO defines and handling - shrink driver memory use for internal structures - improve Tx IRQ coalescing - improve TCP segmentation handling - add support for Spacemit K3 - Cadence (macb): - support PHYs that have inband autoneg disabled with GEM - support IEEE 802.3az EEE - rework usrio capabilities and handling - AMD (xgbe): - improve power management for S0i3 - improve TX resilience for link-down handling - Virtual: - Google cloud vNIC: - support larger ring sizes in DQO-QPL mode - improve HW-GRO handling - support UDP GSO for DQO format - PCIe NTB: - support queue count configuration - Ethernet PHYs: - automatically disable PHY autonomous EEE if MAC is in charge - Broadcom: - add BCM84891/BCM84892 support - Micrel: - support for LAN9645X internal PHY - Realtek: - add RTL8224 pair order support - support PHY LEDs on RTL8211F-VD - support spread spectrum clocking (SSC) - Maxlinear: - add PHY-level statistics via ethtool - Ethernet switches: - Maxlinear (mxl862xx): - support for bridge offloading - support for VLANs - support driver statistics - Bluetooth: - large number of fixes and new device IDs - Mediatek: - support MT6639 (MT7927) - support MT7902 SDIO - WiFi: - Intel (iwlwifi): - UNII-9 and continuing UHR work - MediaTek (mt76): - mt7996/mt7925 MLO fixes/improvements - mt7996 NPU support (HW eth/wifi traffic offload) - Qualcomm (ath12k): - monitor mode support on IPQ5332 - basic hwmon temperature reporting - support IPQ5424 - Realtek: - add USB RX aggregation to improve performance - add USB TX flow control by tracking in-flight URBs - Cellular: - IPA v5.2 support"* tag 'net-next-7.1'
wifi: mac80211, cfg80211: Export michael_mic() and move it to cfg80211Export michael_mic() so that the ath11k and ath12k drivers can call it.In addition, move it from mac80211 to cfg80211 so that the ipw2x00drivers, which depend on cfg80211 but not mac80211, can also call it.Currently these drivers have their own local implementations ofmichael_mic() based on crypto_shash, which is redundant and inefficient.By consolidating all the Michael MIC code into cfg80211, we'll be ableto remove the duplicate Michael MIC code in the crypto/ directory.Signed-off-by: Eric Biggers <ebiggers@kernel.org>Link: https://patch.msgid.link/20260408030651.80336-3-ebiggers@kernel.orgSigned-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes.berg@intel.com>

Merge wireless-next into staging-nextThis merges up to commit a0efa2f362a6 ("Merge net-next/main to resolveconflicts") from wireless-next into the staging-next branch to handlethe removal of a staging driver easier (it happened in the wireless-nextbranch). That way we don't have developers confused and startsubmitting changes for this driver that is now deleted.Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>

Merge tag 'net-next-6.13' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/netdev/net-nextPull networking updates from Paolo Abeni: "The most significant set of changes is the per netns RTNL. The new behavior is disabled by default, regression risk should be contained. Notably the new config knob PTP_1588_CLOCK_VMCLOCK will inherit its default value from PTP_1588_CLOCK_KVM, as the first is intended to be a more reliable replacement for the latter. Core: - Started a very large, in-progress, effort to make the RTNL lock scope per network-namespace, thus reducing the lock contention significantly in the containerized use-case, comprising: - RCU-ified some relevant slices of the FIB control path - introduce basic per netns locking helpers - namespacified the IPv4 address hash table - remove rtnl_register{,_module}() in favour of rtnl_register_many() - refactor rtnl_{new,del,set}link() moving as much validation as possible out of RTNL lock - convert all phonet doit() and dumpit() handlers to RCU - convert IPv4 addresses manipulation to per-netns RTNL - convert virtual interface creation to per-netns RTNL the per-netns lock infrastructure is guarded by the CONFIG_DEBUG_NET_SMALL_RTNL knob, disabled by default ad interim. - Introduce NAPI suspension, to efficiently switching between busy polling (NAPI processing suspended) and normal processing. - Migrate the IPv4 routing input, output and control path from direct ToS usage to DSCP macros. This is a work in progress to make ECN handling consistent and reliable. - Add drop reasons support to the IPv4 rotue input path, allowing better introspection in case of packets drop. - Make FIB seqnum lockless, dropping RTNL protection for read access. - Make inet{,v6} addresses hashing less predicable. - Allow providing timestamp OPT_ID via cmsg, to correlate TX packets and timestamps Things we sprinkled into general kernel code: - Add small file operations for debugfs, to reduce the struct ops size. - Refactoring and optimization for the implementation of page_frag API, This is a preparatory work to consolidate the page_frag implementation. Netfilter: - Optimize set element transactions to reduce memory consumption - Extended netlink error reporting for attribute parser failure. - Make legacy xtables configs user selectable, giving users the option to configure iptables without enabling any other config. - Address a lot of false-positive RCU issues, pointed by recent CI improvements. BPF: - Put xsk sockets on a struct diet and add various cleanups. Overall, this helps to bump performance by 12% for some workloads. - Extend BPF selftests to increase coverage of XDP features in combination with BPF cpumap. - Optimize and homogenize bpf_csum_diff helper for all archs and also add a batch of new BPF selftests for it. - Extend netkit with an option to delegate skb->{mark,priority} scrubbing to its BPF program. - Make the bpf_get_netns_cookie() helper available also to tc(x) BPF programs. Protocols: - Introduces 4-tuple hash for connected udp sockets, speeding-up significantly connected sockets lookup. - Add a fastpath for some TCP timers that usually expires after close, the socket lock contention. - Add inbound and outbound xfrm state caches to speed up state lookups. - Avoid sending MPTCP advertisements on stale subflows, reducing risks on loosing them. - Make neighbours table flushing more scalable, maintaining per device neigh lists. Driver API: - Introduce a unified interface to configure transmission H/W shaping, and expose it to user-space via generic-netlink. - Add support for per-NAPI config via netlink. This makes napi configuration persistent across queues removal and re-creation. Requires driver updates, currently supported drivers are: nVidia/Mellanox mlx4 and mlx5, Broadcom brcm and Intel ice. - Add ethtool support for writing SFP / PHY firmware blocks. - Track RSS context allocation from ethtool core. - Implement support for mirroring to DSA CPU port, via TC mirror offload. - Consolidate FDB updates notification, to avoid duplicates on device-specific entries. - Expose DPLL clock quality level to the user-space. - Support master-slave PHY config via device tree. Tests and tooling: - forwarding: introduce deferred commands, to simplify the cleanup phase Drivers: - Updated several drivers - Amazon vNic, Google vNic, Microsoft vNic, Intel e1000e and Broadcom Tigon3 - to use netdev-genl to link the IRQs and queues to NAPI IDs, allowing busy polling and better introspection. - Ethernet high-speed NICs: - nVidia/Mellanox: - mlx5: - a large refactor to implement support for cross E-Switch scheduling - refactor H/W conter management to let it scale better - H/W GRO cleanups - Intel (100G, ice):: - add support for ethtool reset - implement support for per TX queue H/W shaping - AMD/Solarflare: - implement per device queue stats support - Broadcom (bnxt): - improve wildcard l4proto on IPv4/IPv6 ntuple rules - Marvell Octeon: - Add representor support for each Resource Virtualization Unit (RVU) device. - Hisilicon: - add support for the BMC Gigabit Ethernet - IBM (EMAC): - driver cleanup and modernization - Cisco (VIC): - raise the queues number limit to 256 - Ethernet virtual: - Google vNIC: - implement page pool support - macsec: - inherit lower device's features and TSO limits when offloading - virtio_net: - enable premapped mode by default - support for XDP socket(AF_XDP) zerocopy TX - wireguard: - set the TSO max size to be GSO_MAX_SIZE, to aggregate larger packets. - Ethernet NICs embedded and virtual: - Broadcom ASP: - enable software timestamping - Freescale: - add enetc4 PF driver - MediaTek: Airoha SoC: - implement BQL support - RealTek r8169: - enable TSO by default on r8168/r8125 - implement extended ethtool stats - Renesas AVB: - enable TX checksum offload - Synopsys (stmmac): - support header splitting for vlan tagged packets - move common code for DWMAC4 and DWXGMAC into a separate FPE module. - add dwmac driver support for T-HEAD TH1520 SoC - Synopsys (xpcs): - driver refactor and cleanup - TI: - icssg_prueth: add VLAN offload support - Xilinx emaclite: - add clock support - Ethernet switches: - Microchip: - implement support for the lan969x Ethernet switch family - add LAN9646 switch support to KSZ DSA driver - Ethernet PHYs: - Marvel: 88q2x: enable auto negotiation - Microchip: add support for LAN865X Rev B1 and LAN867X Rev C1/C2 - PTP: - Add support for the Amazon virtual clock device - Add PtP driver for s390 clocks - WiFi: - mac80211 - EHT 1024 aggregation size for transmissions - new operation to indicate that a new interface is to be added - support radio separation of multi-band devices - move wireless extension spy implementation to libiw - Broadcom: - brcmfmac: optional LPO clock support - Microchip: - add support for Atmel WILC3000 - Qualcomm (ath12k): - firmware coredump collection support - add debugfs support for a multitude of statistics - Qualcomm (ath5k): - Arcadyan ARV45XX AR2417 &
Merge tag 'wireless-next-2024-10-25' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/wireless/wireless-nextKalle Valo says:====================wireless-next patches for v6.13The first -next "new features" pull request for v6.13. This is a bigone as we have not been able to send one earlier. We have also somepatches affecting other subsystems: in staging we deleted the rtl8192edriver and in debugfs added a new interface to save structfile_operations memory; both were acked by GregKH.Because of the lib80211/libipw move there were quite a lot ofconflicts and to solve those we decided to merge net-next intowireless-next.Major changes:cfg80211/mac80211 * stop exporting wext symbols * new mac80211 op to indicate that a new interface is to be added * support radio separation of multi-band devicesWireless Extensions * move wext spy implementation to libiw * remove iw_public_data from struct net_devicebrcmfmac * optional LPO clock supportipw2x00 * move remaining lib80211 code into libiwwilc1000 * WILC3000 supportrtw89 * RTL8852BE and RTL8852BE-VT BT-coexistence improvements* tag 'wireless-next-2024-10-25' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/wireless/wireless-next: (126 commits) mac80211: Remove NOP call to ieee80211_hw_config wifi: iwlwifi: work around -Wenum-compare-conditional warning wifi: mac80211: re-order assigning channel in activate links wifi: mac80211: convert debugfs files to short fops debugfs: add small file operations for most files wifi: mac80211: remove misleading j_0 construction parts wifi: mac80211_hwsim: use hrtimer_active() wifi: mac80211: refactor BW limitation check for CSA parsing wifi: mac80211: filter on monitor interfaces based on configured channel wifi: mac80211: refactor ieee80211_rx_monitor wifi: mac80211: add support for the monitor SKIP_TX flag wifi: cfg80211: add monitor SKIP_TX flag wifi: mac80211: add flag to opt out of virtual monitor support wifi: cfg80211: pass net_device to .set_monitor_channel wifi: mac80211: remove status->ampdu_delimiter_crc wifi: cfg80211: report per wiphy radio antenna mask wifi: mac80211: use vif radio mask to limit creating chanctx wifi: mac80211: use vif radio mask to limit ibss scan frequencies wifi: cfg80211: add option for vif allowed radios wifi: iwlwifi: allow IWL_FW_CHECK() with just a string ...====================Link: https://patch.msgid.link/20241025170705.5F6B2C4CEC3@smtp.kernel.orgSigned-off-by: Jakub Kicinski <kuba@kernel.org>
