The
.Fn avl_destroy
function is used to destroy the AVL tree that is rooted at
.Fa tree .
At the time that
.Fn avl_destroy
is called,
.Fa tree
must be empty. It is a programmer error to call
.Fn avl_destroy
otherwise. To efficiently remove all entries in the tree, see
.Xr avl_destroy_nodes 3AVL .

should not be used with any other library functions until a subsequent
call to
